HIRING TAP ROOM MANAGER!

Tombstone Brewing Company is seeking to fill an immediate opening for the position of tap room manager. The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of craft beer, including familiarity with beer styles, sensory analysis, the brewing process, and the craft beer industry in general
  • Experience using and maintaining draught systems, including familiarity with the Draught Beer Quality Manual
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Square POS, and Untappd for Business
  • Proven success in a retail/hospitality environment, including events planning and coordination, the use of social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) for advertising and promotion, and experience maintaining and ordering inventory
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees and the general public
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent driving record

This is a full-time salaried position plus tips. Salary will be based on experience.

Duties will include the following:

  • Maintaining a physical presence at the brewery every Thursday through Monday, including assisting existing staff with bartending every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (and sharing tips)
  • Hiring, training, and managing tap room staff as needed in addition to staying up to date with (and communicating to staff) market and industry trends
  • Maintaining a clean, friendly, and safe environment
  • Overseeing all things related to running Tombstone Brewing Company’s taproom and physical location generally
  • Overseeing local beer sales as well as the servicing of local wholesale beer accounts
  • Occasional trips to Phoenix or Tucson in a box truck to pick up supplies for the tap room or production

Details regarding the areas of responsibility include the following:

 

Managing beer and merchandise inventory
-Keeping a running, accurate inventory of kegs, bottles, and cans in the walk-in
-Keeping a running, accurate inventory of all merchandise
-Effectively displaying all merchandise and packaged beer available for sale
-Updating Square POS with accurate inventories of retail items
-Keeping walk in cooler and beer and merchandise inventory clean and organized
-Maintaining detailed tax reporting records for beer transferred to the tap room from the walk in

 

Managing Regular Physical Plant Operations
-Making sure the tap room is a clean, sanitary, inviting space for guests
-Ordering and restocking supplies as needed, including for tap room and brewing area garbage, cleaning, pest control, restrooms, hand sink, 3-bin sink, kegerators, beer faucets, lines, and any other items related to the operation of the tap room
-Making sure paths to electrical panels and exits are clear
-Making sure patio is clean, free of debris and weeds, and the brewery grounds generally well-maintained
-Making sure handicapped parking spot is properly painted and the grounds are generally ADA-compliant
-Occasional trips to Phoenix or Tucson in a box truck to pick up supplies for the tap room or production
-Making sure equipment used in tap room and in general execution of these duties is adequately maintained and serviced on a regular basis

 

Managing Regular Tap Room Operations
-Ensuring exceptional guest experiences every visit
-Helping with bartending shifts, including opening the tap room and assisting existing tap room staff every Friday through Sunday
-Planning for and assisting with brewery special events and completing additional bartending shifts as needed for events and high volume weekends
-Scheduling staff shifts/hours as needed and managing labor costs/needs
-Educating staff and consumers regarding beers
-Preparing and printing tap and bottle lists and updating beer menus using Untappd for Business
-Adding new items to Square POS and optimizing Square for ease of POS use
-Coordinating with production staff to insure a varied and exciting list of eight different beers on tap at all times
-Ensuring backup CO2 and backup kegs are readily available
-Ordering additional CO2 as needed
-Cleaning all beer lines weekly
-Preparing excess cash and checks for deposit arranging for deposits as needed
-Making sure there is sufficient cash in the cash box to make change
-Maintaining detailed tap room financial records, including budgets and projections for determining the quantity and frequency of merchandise orders and the number of kegs, cans, and bottles to hold back for sale on site
-Managing tap room operational costs

 

Overseeing Local Sales and Servicing Local Accounts
-Selling beer to Tombstone accounts
-Growing local account base and promoting local accounts
-Educating local accounts about products available, including staff training about our beers and proper serving
-Cleaning lines for Tombstone accounts
-Invoicing for Tombstone accounts and preparing checks and/or cash from local accounts for deposit
