Tombstone Brewing Company is seeking applicants for the position of Production Manager / Head Brewer at its Tombstone and Sierra Vista locations. This is a management-level position that works directly under the Brewmaster and ownership. The Production Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of day-to-day brewery production and packaging operations.
Qualifications
The right candidate for this position will have substantial commercial brewing experience, proven leadership and management skills, a passion for brewing, strong critical thinking and communication skills, and substantial mechanical, equipment, and brewing process knowledge.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
-5+ years of brewing experience with a proven record of advancement
-2+ years of experience managing 3 or more people
-Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills
-Technical and practical knowledge of all aspects of brewery equipment
-Technical and practical knowledge of all aspects of brewery process
-Familiarity with best practices regarding equipment, maintenance, and cleaning
-Experience with the development and enforcement of SOPs
-Knowledge of OSHA compliance requirements and general workplace safety
-Thorough understanding of quality control and lab procedures, including with regard to yeast management and DO, CO2, and packaged beer testing
-Exceptional sensory skills
-Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets
-Extreme cleanliness and attention to detail
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to multitask and meet deadlines efficiently and effectively
Job Duties
The Production Manager will work directly under the Brewmaster and ownership to manage all aspects of day-to-day brewery production and packaging operations in Tombstone and Sierra Vista. This person will spend a great deal of time on the brewery floor making sure that staff are supported, issues are solved, and production processes are running smoothly. The Production Manager will manage resources, set production schedules, set team schedules, assist with recipe and new product development, and work with the team on quality control, equipment operations, inventory, and data management.
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
-Lead, train, manage and schedule a team of 3+ assistant brewers
-Oversee brewing, cellaring, and packaging
-Manage all day-to-day operations necessary to produce high quality, consistent beer
-Maintain and improve QA/QC processes
-Promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork
-Advocate and lead a continuous improvement culture throughout the team
-Manage inventory of raw materials and finished beer
-Coordinate logistics of transfers between the breweries in Tombstone and Sierra Vista
-Develop SOPs and hold self and team accountable
-Maintain detailed, organized records regarding all aspects of operations
-Develop systems to insure smooth operations and accurate record-keeping
-Oversee routine maintenance of equipment
-Maintain and promote a clean and organized production environment
